Further to my previous email, I am writing to let you know that we will shortly begin the essential bridge maintenance works on the A605 Oundle Road overbridge. Work will include waterproofing, replacement of joints and parapets, plus drainage works.
We plan to complete this work over 7 months from Monday 26 September, weather permitting.
Closures and diversions
To carry out the work safely, there will be 24/7 temporary traffic signals on Oundle Road for the duration of the project. This will enable us to undertake works safely during daytime hours.
We will also occasionally need to close the A1 overnight to allow us to set up traffic management. Details of these closures can be found below:

Wednesday 7 and Thursday 8 December (8pm to 6am)
Wednesday 15 and Thursday 16 March 2023 (8pm to 6am)
Friday 17 to Monday 20 March (full weekend closure)
Monday 20 March Thursday 23 March (8pm to 6am)
Friday 24 to Monday 27 March (full weekend closure)
Monday 27 March to Friday 31 March (8pm to 6am) Eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A1 northbound to Wansford and return southbound on the A1 to re-join Oundle Road via the exit slip. (Map 1)
Westbound traffic will be diverted via the A1 southbound to junction 17 and use Fletton Park Interchange to re-join the A1 northbound and re-join Oundle Road via the exit slip. (Map 2)
Both directions A1 between A605/ Fletton Parkway and Wansford Saturday 22 October and Sunday 23 October
Saturday 12 November and Sunday 13 November
Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February 2023
Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 February 2023
Traffic will be diverted via the A47, A1260 Nene Parkway and A1139 Fletton Parkway (Map 3)

Oundle Road overbridge (near Kates Cabin)
I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out essential bridge maintenance works on the A605 Oundle Road overbridge. Work will include waterproofing, replacement of joints, parapets, and drainage works.
The main bridge works are expected to start in September. Before we start the main works, we need to carry out some surveys to the structure.
Closures and diversions
To allow us to carry out the surveys safely we will need to close the Oundle Road overbridge overnight between 8pm and 6am from Sunday 14 August to Wednesday 31 August.
Whilst the road is closed, eastbound traffic will be diverted via the A1 northbound to Wansford and return southbound on the A1 to re-join Oundle Road via the exit slip.
Westbound traffic will diverted via the A1 southbound to junction 17 and use Fletton Park Interchange to re-join the A1 northbound and re-join Oundle Road via the exit slip. (Map 2)
